Inland Empire Master-Planned City

Farms & Ranches in Menifee, CA

Welcome to Menifee, a Riverside County city in the Inland Empire built around master-planned communities and set in the rolling hills near Lake Elsinore.

Menifee is a city in southwestern Riverside County, California, situated within the Inland Empire region roughly midway between Los Angeles and San Diego. Its story is a relatively recent one: the area was settled in the nineteenth century and takes its name from Luther Menifee Wilson, a local miner, but it did not incorporate as a city until 2008. That incorporation formalized a community that had already been growing for decades around a series of large master-planned developments. The 2020 census counted 102,527 residents, making Menifee one of the larger and more rapidly developing cities in Riverside County. Its growth has been driven by master-planned communities such as Audie Murphy Ranch, The Lakes, Legado, and Brookside, which offer family-oriented amenities including pools, parks, and trails. The Sun City area, developed as an active-adult community, remains a defining part of Menifee and gives the city a notable 55-plus segment alongside its younger suburban neighborhoods. Education is split between two districts: the Menifee Union School District serves elementary and middle school students in grades K-8, while the Perris Union High School District operates Paloma Valley High School and Heritage High School within the city. That structure gives families a complete public-school pathway from kindergarten through high school without leaving Menifee. Menifee's location along Interstate 215 is central to its appeal. The freeway runs through the city, connecting north to Perris and Moreno Valley and south to Murrieta and Temecula, and serving as a commuter corridor for residents who work in San Diego, Temecula, and other Inland Empire employment centers. For recreation, residents enjoy a network of city parks and are a short drive from Lake Elsinore and the Temecula Valley. The combination of master-planned housing, a full school pathway, and freeway access makes Menifee a practical choice for families and commuters across the region.
