Rosamond is an unincorporated community in Kern County, California, set in the Antelope Valley's portion of the Mojave Desert, just north of Lancaster and Palmdale and a short distance from the Los Angeles County line. Established in 1877 as a railroad stop, it grew through mining and agriculture before evolving into the desert bedroom community it is today, with a 2020 census population of roughly 21,000.
